|Oldham Fly-Fishing Club offers quality fly-fishing for both rainbow trout and brown trout on its two waters in the scenic Piethorne Valley at Ogden, Newhey and river fishing at Well-i-Hole Farm Greenfield.
|Piethorne Reservoir is approximately 40 acres in area and is regularly stocked with rainbow trout.
|A good stock of brown trout is maintained in the 12½ acre Kitcliffe Reservoir.
|The 900yards stretch of the River Tame offers wild brown trout.
|The fishing season is:
Piethorne & Kitcliffe
1st April to 28th February
15th March to 30th September
|In addition to providing excellent fishing, the Club offers many more facilities of great value to both the experienced angler and the novice.
|Inexpensive professional instruction in fly-casting for both trout and salmon is arranged for members.
|Informal meetings are held on Monday evenings throughout the year at:
Springhead Liberal Club
|At these meetings tuition is given in fly-dressing and other aspects of fly-fishing.
The weekly meetings also provide an opportunity for discussion between members.
|Talks by acknowledged experts on a wide range of subjects relating to fishing for salmon, trout and grayling are arranged for the benefit of members.
|A substantial library of books and videos/DVDs are available to members on loan.
|The Club also organises social events for members and their partners.
